Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What surfaces can LimeCoat® go over?

Answer: Concrete, Stamped Concrete, Pea Gravel, Cool-Deck, Brick, Sheetrock, Cementboard, Cinderblock and more...

Q: How many patterns are available?

A: Because each project is hand-crafted and hand-colored there are unlimited patterns and colors available.

Q: What can you do about cracks?

A: When designing a pattern, our designers will incorporate any existing cracks into our LimeCoat® pattern. If the cracks reappear, then they will appear along the mortar joint of a stone, which can be easily filled.

A: No. Unlike stamped concrete or smooth troweled concrete we apply our limestone coating and hand-texture each project assuring a non-skid finish that will last for years to come. Our finished surface won’t hurt your feet.

Q: Can it withstand the wear and tear of cars on a driveway?

A: LimeCoat® has a 6100 PSI rating, which is more twice as strong as most broom finished concrete. LimeCoat® is specifically engineered to withstand even the heaviest of traffic!

Q: How thick is the coating?

A: LimeCoat® can be applied from approximately 1/4"-1" thick.

Q: What do you do with expansion joints?

A: We will remove existing wood/plastic and fill the joints with a flexible joint compound topped with sand creating a natural finish.

Q: We have some areas where water stands, can you do anything to fix the drainage problem?

A: Yes. While we cannot perform miracles LimeCoat® can be built-up to allow water to drain in the proper direction.

Q: How long does LimeCoat® last?

A: Rest assured, LimeCoat® is one of the most durable and long-lasting overlays in the industry. With projects still in great shape even after 18 years! LimeCoat® is considered the "Lexus" of the overlay industry.
